The short answer
Bid on auction lots when you want to pick specific items and control your price on each one. Buy wholesale pallets when you need volume and want a fixed price without waiting for Sunday's close.
Auction lots
- Price: every lot starts at $5 with no reserve. You set your max bid. Add the 15% buyer's premium and any card fee.
- Control: you choose exactly which items you buy, and you can preview them in person first.
- Timing: one auction a week, closing Sunday at 6 PM CST. Pickup starts Monday.
- Best for: households, small booths, and sellers who focus on specific categories.
Wholesale pallets and truckloads
- Price: a fixed wholesale price per pallet or truckload. No bidding.
- Volume: a lot more merchandise per trip, which keeps your cost per item down.
- Logistics: forklift loading at pickup in Hutto, or freight shipping.
- Best for: bin stores, larger flea market operations and online sellers who move volume every week.
Questions to ask yourself
- How many items do you sell each week?
- Do you need specific categories, or will you sell a mix?
- Do you have a truck, trailer or space to store full pallets?
- Would you rather set your own price per item, or lock in one price up front?
Many resellers do both: they buy wholesale for steady volume and bid on auction lots for the standout items.
