New to HiBid?
How to sign up, bid, win and pick up from AK Lots auctions, start to finish.
8 steps, about 5 minutes
From signup to pickup
All AK Lots auctions run on HiBid, a free bidding site used by thousands of auction companies. Here's everything a first-time bidder needs to know.
- 1
Create a free HiBid account
Open aklots.hibid.com and tap Sign Up. Use an email you check, since your winning invoice goes there. HiBid is free, and you only set it up once.
- 2
Add a payment card
Add a Visa, Mastercard or Discover to your account. Cards on file may be charged automatically after the auction closes. Card payments add a 3% processing fee. You can also pay with Cash App or Zelle. Paying cash? Call 737-349-3852 before Sunday to get approved.
- 3
Register for this week's auction
Open this week's AK Lots auction and accept the terms when HiBid asks. Once you're registered, you can bid on any lot in the catalog.
- 4
Browse and read each lot
New lots are added every day, so check back during the week. Read each description carefully. Items are liquidation stock sold as-is, and some listings use stock photos. You can also preview lots in person during open hours in Hutto.
- 5
Set your max bid
Enter the most you're willing to pay. HiBid bids for you, only as much as needed to keep you in the lead, up to your max. Every lot starts at $5 with no reserve, so the highest bid wins.
- 6
Watch the Sunday close
Bidding begins closing Sunday at 6 PM CST. It's a soft close, so a late bid adds time to that lot. That means nobody can snipe it in the last second, and you can still respond.
- 7
Check your email for your invoice
Winners get an invoice Sunday night. Your total includes the 15% buyer's premium, Texas sales tax (unless you have an approved resale certificate) and the 3% card fee if you pay by card.
- 8
Pick up or ship
Pickup in Hutto starts Monday at noon. Bring your invoice, an ID and a vehicle that fits. Shipping eligible items? You'll get a separate shipping invoice, and all shipping orders go out at the end of the week.

What you'll pay
Example: you win a lot at $40. The 15% buyer's premium adds $6, then Texas sales tax applies unless you have an approved resale certificate. Paying by card adds 3%. Cash is accepted only with approval before the auction closes.
